There was no such thing as the Fertile Crescent, This name belongs to the American archaeologist James Henry Breasted, and the name is not the problem, The problem is related to the concept of inheritance, Inheritance is what remains of something after the death of its owner, and it is for his relatives, These specifications do not apply to the inheritance of the Fertile Crescent or the Levant by the Arabs of the Peninsula, When the Arabs of the Peninsula came about 1440 years ago, the Levant was not humanly dead, The Arabs of the Peninsula did not deal with the Levant and the people of the Levant as heirs and relatives, but as enemies, Their lands must be conquered and tens of thousands of them killed, as indicated by the story of the Red River and others, The Bedouins have no right to inherit the Levant at all, because the people of the Levant were alive at that time.

God commanded the spreading of the message, so the conquest was necessary, and the conquest that includes ownership and sanctity is a divine necessity within the framework of jihad in the way of God, God commanded the change of the religion of the people of the Levant based on the consideration of Islam as the religion of God, and God wanted the Christian in the Levant to convert to Islam or pay the jizya(tribute) or fight, This is how it was, And if this is plunder and colonization, then God is the plunderer, the killer, the colonizer, the tyrant.
The Arab Bedouin were nothing but raiders, at least according to their definition and the name they gave to their operation, It was a “raid,” and raiding in the Arabian Peninsula had connotations characterized by attacking something by force, then seizing it and considering it one’s own property, It is the heinous concept of war booty and the degenerate Bedouin concept of right, Even heinous was the concept of liberation, The Arabs of the Peninsula liberated the Levant from the Persian-Roman occupier, but the Arabs of the Peninsula did not leave after their “liberation” of the Levant!! They remained with their swords hanging over people’s necks for a thousand years, and after them came the Ottomans and remained for 400 years, The Allies actually liberated the Levant from Ottoman colonialism, and left after a relatively short period, If they had not left, it would have been logical to consider them occupiers, conquerors, heirs, and owners, and by claiming to liberate the country, they were hypocrites, Replacing one form of colonialism with another is not liberation,The greatest catastrophe lay in the fact that the Quraysh colonialism and after it the Ottoman colonialism were exploitative par excellence. Throughout the fourteen centuries, not a single school was established, not an irrigation canal was dug, and not a single civilized building was erected. The centuries were centuries of absolute stagnation and absolute subjugation.
Every occupation is rejected, and colonialism is sometimes like fate, which leaves the people of the colony with no choice but between one colonizer and another. Therefore, if the Syrian people were asked to choose between the Arab-Ottoman occupation and the French mandate, their choice would be the French mandate, which was characterized by many relative advantages compared to the occupation of the Caliphate and the Sultanate of the Levant.
The situation and the view regarding the French occupation or mandate have changed, There are now those who regret the departure of France, because what the mandate did in terms of positive achievements alongside the negatives during 25 years is not comparable to what the Caliphate and the Sultanate did during 1440 years!
Those who now inhabit the Levant, comprised of entities or states established in the last century, are the peoples of the Levant, regardless of their origin or affiliation, Within the framework of the state, there is the Syrian society or the Iraqi society, etc. And within each of these societies, there are multiple peoples embraced by the state called the Syrian state or the Iraqi state, In this Syrian state, there is no such thing as a fundamental component, Recognizing a fundamental component necessarily entails the existence of a non-fundamental or secondary component, And what is the definition of the state of society in a state where a fundamental citizen lives alongside a secondary or non-fundamental citizen? It is racism, which can only destroy the state afflicted by that racism. Indeed, these states were destroyed by religious racism that claims the supremacy of believers, and by nationalism that claims the supremacy of the Arab element.
The demise of these states or state projects was inevitable for several reasons, including the concept of dominance, i.e., numerically legitimized hegemony, The modern concept of the state is only compatible with the concept of citizenship, and there is no concept of citizenship under the old concept of dominance, which predates the concept of the state, The meaning of the concept of religious or national dominance is not limited to the numerical factor. The most important thing that this concept includes is the legitimization of hegemony politically, by non-political means, The state is a political entity and project, and the religious majority is not a political majority, just as the ethnic majority is not a political majority.
The problem, in short, is the attempt to establish states using Bedouin, tribal, and clan-based means, The result was that these states, which were in the process of being established, turned into tribes and clans that suited the current situation, the available resources, and the stage of civilization.
It seems that these peoples are incapable of practicing citizenship within the framework of the nation-state , With the tribal system and its hereditary leadership, the people exist in a state of absolute obedience according to the concept of “obey me.” These peoples stood in the conflict between the tribe and the state on the side of the tribe, and thus the process of transition to the state failed, and the concept of citizenship was abolished, which was replaced by the concept of subservience or subjecthood, The peoples were unable to move from subjecthood to the concept of citizenship, and from the concept of favors to the concept of living by production, that is, from the concept of a granted right to the concept of an acquired right, The tribe was allowed to swallow the state and subject it to its values, concepts, and standards of excessive tribal loyalty, then intellectual stagnation, aversion to the law, and hostility to modernity, Why then be surprised at the disappearance of those entities called states!!!!
