George Banna, Ma. Bitar:
The inclusion of Islam as a primary source of legislation in the 1973 constitution was not a religious or doctrinal stance towards religion, but rather a courtesy and appeasement step towards the Brotherhood,In the context of this courtesy, other steps were taken, the most important of which was the sabotage of education by mutual agreement between the Brotherhood and the authorities after 1973, especially after the Al Julanism took power about a year and a half ago, Each group had a share in the sabotage of progress, as enlightened education is not in the interest of religious fundamentalism, It is in the interest of religious fundamentalism to establish Quran memorization schools to create blind loyalty to political religion.
Dictatorships of any kind have no interest in enlightened education, Therefore, the Assad regime transformed government schools into sectarian party camps to deify Assad, while the Al Julanism turned schools into mosques, aiming to create blind loyalty to a religious dictatorship,Thus, Armenians, Kurds, and anyone who wasn’t a Ba’athist or Assad supporter—whether Alawite, Sunni, or otherwise—were forced to repeat the slogan “One Arab Nation” several times a day,This slogan negated Kurds, Syrian nationalists, communists, and anyone else in general,These slogans were an attempt to revive religious Arabism and eliminate all dissent,The Al Julanism did even worse than the Assad regime, They practiced sectarian cleansing on the coast and inland, About a year ago, churches (in Douila’a) were bombed, and dozens of those they called “deviant infidels” were killed, The perpetrator(s) were arrested, according to the Al Julanism, but we haven’t heard anything about the trial of these jihadist criminals, nor have any verdicts been announced,Most likely, that case has been dropped, The page, so whoever sees that the destruction of almost all of Iraq’s churches by the revered Caliph Al-Mutawakkil was a jihadist act that would be rewarded in Paradise, will consider the bombers of the Al-Duwaila church as jihadists and their eternal damnation in Paradise between the thighs of the harem.
The outbreak of a revolutionary movement in Syria in 2011 was a surprise, without prior expectation, perhaps inspired by Egypt, Tunisia, and Libya. It could have erupted several decades earlier, That revolution demanded what the Muslim Brotherhood did not demand and what the Assad regime did not want, Here, the intersection of Muslim Brotherhood-Assad interests, i.e., the political Alawite-Shiite interests, reappeared, The interests intersected timidly and without words, i.e., through silence, The camouflage of the intersection of interests was also done through mutual insults as a rough language of playfulness, Under the umbrella of rough playfulness, the 2011 revolution was completely eliminated, primarily at the hands of ISIS-affiliated armed factions, especially the military wing of this revolution, which consisted of defectors from Assad’s army,As a result, only the Assad regime and fundamentalism remained on the scene, and the tripartite battle of revolutionaries, factions, and the Assad regime turned into a duality between the Assad regime and fundamentalism.
After the 2011 revolution was crushed, the Brotherhood felt close to power, especially after they won many battles against Assad’s forces and controlled large parts of Syrian and Iraqi territory, until they reached the outskirts of Qardaha. Days passed and the Commander of the Faithful, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, would sit on the throne of the Caliphate, and the Brotherhood’s dream would be realized. The Brotherhood waited for years until it seemed as if their dreams had begun to come true. Now, the Al Julanism is sitting on the throne of power, and the Umayyad Caliphate is being reproduced, as they wanted to call it!
The realization of fundamentalist dreams in Syria was not like the conquests of the Caliphs without shedding a single drop of blood, as some falsifiers of history have claimed! On the one hand, not a single drop of blood was shed, and on the other hand, 100,000 of the Companions were “martyred” in the context of the conquests,The truth is that the rise of fundamentalism to power cost the country its material and human existence, and perhaps its future, The Assad regime occupied the country as an internal colonialism with the help of external forces such as the Iranian mullahs and Hezbollah, and the Al Julanism occupied the country with the help of external forces such as Turkey and Uyghur and Chechen mercenaries., All of this was accompanied by rivers of blood, which reached knee-deep, Previously, rivers ran red with the blood spilled by Khalid ibn al-Walid, one of the ten promised Paradise, and churches were also demolished, For about two years now, blood has been filling the valleys of the coast and the south, and about a year ago, blood filled the churches, which is reminiscent of the massacres of 1860, and more recently, of the Rabaa sit-in in Cairo, where 66 churches were burned by the Muslim Brotherhood.
Ancient history is full of events greater and more significant than what we saw about a year and a half ago, Here we want to remember the Umayyad Caliph Yazid ibn Abd al-Malik, then the Abbasid Caliph al-Ma’mun, then Caliph al-Mutawakkil, Caliph al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah, and other monsters, and all the other Muhammadan eras, up to the Mamluks and the Ottomans, It is not possible to ignore the crimes of the Pact of Umar, and there is not enough space to mention everything that happened in those eras, All of that led to the decline of some groups to a certain extent before complete extinction, Now the extinction is complete, Whoever did not emigrate before the massacre of the Douila’a Church will emigrate after it, and thus the Christian presence will end completely in this region, and the chapters of a stage that lasted about 1440 years will end, not only in Syria and Iraq, but also in the rest of the countries that call themselves Arab. Those countries have earned this name, which symbolizes much savagery, meanness, and an inability to live in the mosaic of diversity.
The Assad regime was exhausted and perished without any significant effort from the organization, It was a surrender and handover, The organization’s leadership, which recently took the reins, appears shaky and weak, as it consists of dozens of factions that are already hostile, It seems that the interim presidency of the country has no power or strength, despite the formal external acceptance of it for reasons related to foreign powers, especially Israel, The first to rebel against the authority of the organization were ISIS, who declared the interim presidency infidels and declared war on it. ISIS wars mean assassinations, i.e., the assassination of al-Julani, which was warned against by several foreign intelligence agencies.
We see in the current rule of the country nothing but a continuation of Assadism, which, in its broad outlines, was the republic of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Supreme Guide, Abdul Sattar al-Sayyid, The Ministry of Religious Endowments was responsible for all other ministries, which allows us to consider Syria, metaphorically, a republic of religious endowments, Even after the Al Julani took over the leadership, Syria remained a republic of religious endowments, but a strict one, For the people of Jesus, what happened in the Douila’a church represents a drop in the rain that has been pouring down for 1440 years, adhering to the Pact of Umar, which succeeded in eliminating the Christian presence in the country, especially after the massacres of 1860, As a result of these policies, they emigrated, especially after 2011, and less than 1% of the total population remains,The small remaining percentage will emigrate, Emigration was inevitable, and not participating in the civil war for at least 14 years was a rational and humane decision, In general, it can be said without hesitation that the emigrants did well! It seems that coexistence with the Brotherhood is impossible, and examples of this impossibility can be found in several Arab countries such as Lebanon, Egypt, Iraq, Sudan, in addition to Syria!
