The practice of liberating the peoples of this region was miserable and distorted,After the Western Allies liberated these peoples from Ottoman colonialism and replaced the Ottomans, the relentless pursuit of getting rid of neo-colonialism began, Here, this thought cannot be blamed for the pursuit of getting rid of external colonialism, but in this regard, it remained stagnant for many decades, Colonialism went away immediately after the end of World War II, and the problem ended, but the struggle against colonialism remained as if colonialism was still present, The Muslim Brotherhood and the Arabists remained stagnant, and they employed the issue of external colonialism to consolidate their survival and their transformation into internal colonialism, which proved over time to be worse than European external colonialism by degrees.
The Arab nationalists and their Muslim Brotherhood partners failed to understand that liberating the homeland can only be achieved through liberating the citizen, and that it is impossible to reconcile the antithesis of liberating the homeland with enslaving the citizen and placing him in the prison of religion or its concepts such as loyalty and disavowal, which removed the colonial character from the Ottomans,The Arabists relied on building more prisons for more citizens, and in this manner the homeland was liberated from poverty by impoverishing the citizen, and from ignorance by keeping the citizen ignorant and destroying educational institutions and establishing a center for memorizing the Quran, then developing civil society through the security state that killed the civility of society, Fundamentalism was combated by creating the conditions that enabled it to grow and expand, which surprised many people after the explosions of the Arab Spring, All of the mentioned mistakes, and if space allowed we would mention more and greater ones, were among the reasons for the backwardness, There were no practices of this kind in Europe,There was the opposite of what was mentioned, so there was success and here there was failure.
There are many significant differences that led to European success and Arab failure, including the time difference, as Arab nationalist thought began with the end of European nationalist thought, It can be said that the communist revolution was a sign of the end of European nationalist thought and the beginning of internationalist thought, which is the opposite of nationalist thought, The beginning of Arab nationalist thought was historically linked with the end of European nationalist thought, The Arabs took many concepts from European nationalist thought, but the supply of new European nationalist concepts to Arab nationalist thought stopped almost with the cessation of the growth of European nationalist thought and the beginning of an internationalist stage in Europe.
The concepts of colonialism and liberation were not clear in the minds of Arab nationalists and Islamists, or rather in the minds of people in general, They were not against the concept of colonialism itself, but against a colonizer belonging to a religion other than Islam, For four centuries, peoples remained under the yoke of Ottoman colonialism, the likes of which history has never seen, This meant that a state had the right to colonize, provided it adhered to the teachings of Muhammad, Meanwhile, several revolutions erupted in Syria during the first ten years of the French Mandate, within the framework of the concept of loyalty and disavowal, The intellectual confusion was based on not considering the Ottoman presence as colonialism, but rather as an extension of the Abbasid and Umayyad caliphates, History is repeating itself very clearly in northern Syria, as the Muslim Brotherhood supported the Turkish occupation and even participated with it in the “conquest” of northern Syria. Can these people be trusted with the country?
