erosion of citizenship and homelands amidst national and religious constants

Ruba Mansour, Mira Al-Bitar:

Why all these constants? Since Ibn Rushd and Descartes, it has been said that there is no constant except reason, and what reason decides is the constant at the moment, until reason decides something else,Leaders and guardians talk about constants and they mean by them temporary political steps and limited positions, It is said that among the constants is Syria’s defense of Lebanon in 1982, then the October War of 1973, and helping the resistance in 2006 and 2008 , These are not constants in the rational sense, but rather executive steps related to a specific and transient political issue. Moreover, the truth of these steps, as we mentioned, is doubtful.
The subject of “constants” in general is a terrifying subject in its backwardness and religiousness, since there is no thinking about constants, because constants do not require thinking, They are absolute, imported matters,Thought is the result of thinking, and human existence is linked to the thought resulting from thinking,I think, therefore I exist, Constants do not need thought or thinking, therefore they threaten human existence. Whoever does not think does not exist! Intellectual backwardness is directly proportional to the abundance of constants. Therefore, religion can be considered devoid of thought, because religion is constants, and thought does not accept being fixed, The state of nationalism and its stagnation with constants is like the state of religion, as nationalism may become devoid of any thought when it is filled with constants, This is the case of Arab nationalism, for example, The nationalism of Arab constants has produced nothing but ruin, because it does not think and therefore does not produce thought, and because it has no need to think with the existence of constants.
What presidents and guardians call “constants” is very strange. They call narrow political goals constants, such as helping the Palestinians. Helping them is not constant. Sometimes they help them, and other times they fight them and commit massacres against them, as happened in Sabra and Shatila. In reality, the only constant in the Palestinian cause and the Palestinians was exploiting the cause in order to continue sitting in the chairs. The slogan “No voice is louder than the voice of the battle” is true, but what is meant by the battle is the farcical struggle to remain in the chair. They remained in the chairs and Palestine and the Golan were lost. How many wars did Nasrallah have, and how few square meters did he recover? And despite the illusion of his victories over Israel, Lebanon lost thousands of square meters, thousands of dead and displaced people, and thousands of billions of dollars.
The fundamental flaw in Arab history in general is the illusion and kind of fixation on illusory values, goals, and ambitions, for which the people paid the price in blood, money, and existence. The ambition was illusory and false, while the price paid by the people was real, The Arabs fought many battles under different and varied slogans, banners, and goals, and under the leadership of regimes that played games with acrobatics, leaving the citizen bewildered, The citizen still doesn’t know for certain whether the Arabs won or lost in those costly wars, The citizen cannot distinguish between victory and defeat, nor between liberation and tyranny, He is dizzy, confused, and adrift, not knowing enough about the concept of “identity” or national goals, which some arbitrarily call constants and at other times acts of treason, All this ambiguity and fabrication has led the citizen to feel that his presence in his homeland is a kind of forced residence, What if Israel opened its doors to immigration? It is highly likely that Hezbollah would be at the forefront of the immigrants.
What we know about so-called national constants is fabricated and afflicted with self-love, i.e., narcissism, What we know about the means is deception, fabrication, fraud, and lying,In addition to national constants, there were religious constants that considered the Palestinian issue a continuation of the Banu Qurayza issue, and the conflict with the Zionists a religious conflict unrelated to the land and the people, All of this weakened citizenship to the point of annihilation, All of this and more led Muhammad Abdul-Jabri to say, in the Arab countries, there is no citizen, no citizenship, and no homeland .
