Revelations

Walid Fawaz Hamza

Syria, like all Arab countries, was under the yoke of oppression and tyranny for sixty years. The people found themselves facing a huge challenge and the ability to free themselves from this authoritarian regime, after what happened in some Arab countries, such as Tunisia and Egypt, for example. They rose up to have their say and reject this regime, demanding freedom and dignity. Then, peaceful demonstrations spread to most of the provinces, but they were met with violence and brutality from the security forces, in addition to the government’s deliberate denial of the people’s demands.

But the question is, was the movement truly a revolution that emerged from the will of the people, or were there hidden hands that played a role in mobilizing and instigating the uprising for purposes that served the interests of certain regional powers? Here, we must go back to the beginning, where we can conclude that the Syrian revolution was nothing more than a tool in the hands of regional players to serve their interests and ambitions, in addition to overthrowing the ruling regime in Syria and replacing it with a regime that is subject to the will of these powers.

There are clear indications and evidence proving that a fully-fledged conspiracy was planned, including:

1- The first revelation: Turkey built camps on the Syrian border before any displacement cases were recorded. It began promoting these camps and their capacity in April 2011, before the demonstrations escalated into a full-blown conflict that required displacement. According to Agence France-Presse in May 2011, Turkey was building a city of camps to accommodate a large number of displaced people, while Syrian cities had not been bombed or destroyed to date. Turkey was promoting the tragedies and atrocities suffered by the displaced at the hands of the army, all reported by these displaced people without any documentation of any of the incidents. Meanwhile, on June 22, 2011, Syria objected to Turkey’s actions, and then-Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem stated that Turkey was seeking to create a refugee crisis.

2- The second revelation is the regime’s involvement in demonizing the movement and the head of the regime pardoning a group of prisoners classified as extremist Islamists, such as Zahran Alloush… who founded a faction in Ghouta called the Army of Islam that fights regime elements. However, what is striking is that Zahran Alloush visited Saudi Arabia twice while he was in the Damascus countryside. Where did he travel from and how did he travel? And with whose permission?

3- The third revelation is about the children of Daraa, and the allegations that followed their arrest after they wrote on the school wall the phrase (Your turn is coming, Doctor). These children were arrested for several days and were released after writing a statement not to repeat that writing, and no incident of nail removal was recorded. This was stated by one of the children who became a man after all these years. In a televised interview, he stated that the matter did not go beyond writing statements not to repeat this act, but the people of Daraa Governorate were surprised by the news on Al Jazeera TV, that the children were subjected to torture and nail removal. As for the delegation that went to the office of the governor at the time, Atef Najib, the statement that was repeated is absolutely incorrect, but the delegation was exposed to some serious directives on the necessity of raising their children better than that, and this was stated by the people of Daraa themselves.

4- The fourth revelation: The bombing of the National Security building in 2012, and the killing of members of the crisis cell. The opposition claimed responsibility for the bombing, but in reality, it was carried out by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. The evidence is that Maher al-Assad was absent from that session because he is close to the Iranian regime.

5- The sixth revelation: The use of chemical weapons against civilians in Ghouta in 2014, which claimed the lives of 1,400 martyrs, most of them civilians. The Assad regime was accused of this at the time, while the international investigation proved that the opposition did it and obtained this weapon from Turkey. A video clip was also circulated by the opposition proving that they possessed this weapon and threatened some Alawite villages with it. For those who follow the events in Syria, they remember that US President Obama had ordered the killing of Bashar al-Assad and the end of his rule, but he backed down when he learned the results of the investigation, and America remained silent after that to save face.

7- The seventh revelation: Killing and liquidating members of the Free Syrian Army in northern Syria, under direct Turkish supervision and guidance. It also adopted a political body, the coalition, most of whose members are profiteers and members of the Muslim Brotherhood. It also supported factions affiliated with it, with Turkmen leaders, who have an extremist ideology, and suppressed every free voice, either by imprisonment or forced disappearance. These factions became a weapon in the hands of Turkey, which it uses for its own purposes, so it sent Syrian mercenaries to fight in Azerbaijan, Libya, and elsewhere.

8- The eighth revelation: Do you remember Al-Qashoush, who was nicknamed the singer of the revolution, and who entertained the masses of demonstrations in Hama with his anti-Assad anthems? At the time, the opposition promoted that Al-Qashoush was killed by the regime, his throat was cut out, and his body was thrown into the Orontes River. However, the truth is that he did not die, but was simply disappeared during this period. The goal was to raise the level of public anger against the authorities and increase incitement against Al-Assad. But now, here is Al-Qashoush reappearing in his home province of Hama, amid a celebration held in honor of his return. Therefore, his disappearance was supervised by a party working to incite opinion, increase divisions, and demonize the regime by revealing the extent of its criminality.

9- The ninth revelation: The facilities that Turkey was providing for the passage of jihadist elements from all over the world into Syria. We all remember how the ISIS organization emerged, which was founded in Iraq by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and entered Syria in four-wheel drive vehicles and machine guns mounted on vehicles. Where did they come from? They crossed from Iraq to Syria via Turkey. This is no secret, as the Iraqi leadership declared this.

All of this happened before the mouse escaped from the trap. Everything mentioned indicates that the so-called revolution was being managed by two main players: Turkey, which is affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, and Qatar, which supports it ideologically and financially. Recent events have shown that this revolution is nothing more than a “struggle for power.”
