About women and their liberation
George Banna, Syriano

Given the repeated claim that the Arab- conquests “liberated us”, that is, they also liberated women, without a clear and objective definition of the matter of liberation, they liberated us from the Romans, but the issue of the Romans was not clear as a colonization, as the rule was mutual between Syria and Rome, so that it can be said metaphorically that Rome was attached to Syria, Syrian Rome! And it can be said metaphorically that Syria was attached to Rome, Roman Syria! Roman law treated the Romans, Syrians and other peoples who were annexed to the Roman Empire by means of occupation, which turned into a partnership, The classical colonial situation does not apply to the relationship between Syria and Rome, Among the Syrians, there were several Caesars in Rome, and there was a Caesar from Libya and another from Yemen, Moreover, the laws of the Roman Empire did not distinguish in terms of projects and construction between Rome and Syria, The antiquities in Syria were a copy of the Roman and even Greek antiquities, and they are evidence of the degree of progress that prevailed in the Levant throughout the seven centuries with the Western and Eastern Romans, that is, the Byzantines.
Women constitute the most important and important half of society, yet despite this, women were not treated in male-dominated groups on an equal footing with men, There were significant differences in treatment, and what is mainly important to us is shedding some light on the status of women in the Roman Empire compared to their status in the Arab Hijazi Empire, Women in ancient Rome, that is, in Syria and the Levant as well, had great importance in all aspects of life, and were equal to men, and sometimes even superior to them. There was no polygamy in Rome, and women were worshipped like the goddess “Ishtar”, and were queens and heads of state. Women took charge of countries, governments, and peoples that succeeded, became strong, and advanced in civilization in an amazing way, We have Zenobia, Mary, Queen Semiramis, and many others, The saying that a nation will not succeed if a woman runs its affairs is wrong and insulting to women.
The case of the Syrian queens is surprising, We know little about them, while the rest of the world outside this region knows them well, Queen Semiramis has become a living legend, Queen Naqiya has become a symbol of the unyielding queen, Who among us knows our Syrian princess in the Phoenician era, “Europa,” who gave the European continent its name, and because of her, the alphabet, science and knowledge were transferred to Greece through her brother, Prince cadmous , We must not forget the supreme lady, Julia Domna, who was a temple priestess and, with her political acumen, was able to enable her sons to sit on the Roman Caesar throne. Julia Domna turned Rome into an appendage of Syria, so it is not permissible to talk about Roman colonialism, but rather about a Syrian-Roman partnership.
We wanted in the previous lines to prove that women in the Levant had a very prestigious position, and since women constitute almost half of society, and since the Bedouins of the peninsula liberated us, and we must be grateful to them, therefore it must be said that the Bedouin invasion liberated women as well. Here lies the giant lie, for the invading Bedouins did not liberate women, but rather put them in the cage of tyranny and injustice of Sharia and religion, which despised women in an unimaginable way.
For 1450 years we have witnessed an irrational commitment to the saying “A nation will not succeed if a woman rules its affairs,” We find a commitment and fanaticism regarding polygamy, or polygamy, which did not exist in the Levant 1450 years ago, For fourteen centuries women have suffered from many forms of injustice under the cover of religious jurisprudence, such as considering the man as her guardian, then fighting her by starving her through a law that deprives her of her rights, Her rights are not equal to the rights of the male, and in order not to starve she must accept any insult from the male, who remained in the state of an animal male. Her testimony is not like the testimony of Ishtar, Zenobia, Julia Domna, and Semiramis. Regarding credibility, she is half a human creature, The testimony of a male is equivalent to the testimony of two women, Then jurisprudence placed honor in her vagina and membrane. Violating the membrane without a marriage contract_-nekah- might mean slaughtering her to protect honor!!!! The forms of injustice that women have suffered and are suffering from under the cover of jurisprudence, or rather jurisprudential action, are too numerous to count, mention, or enumerate.
The tragedy is more general and widespread, and because women are deficient in mind and religion, they are not allowed to take charge of a people, They must accept that they are considered shameful, and they must accept that they are disgraced because they do not pray during their menstruation, They must accept Ibn Abdullah’s statement, “I saw that you are the majority of the people of Hellfire ” They must swallow their comparison to feces, They must marry her when she “can tolerate intercourse.” A wife is only for intercourse!!!! They must accept that men possess the weapon of divorce, and thus they are placed in the position of a slave woman,They must accept that there is a difference between her urine and that of a male, because according to Islamic law, “the urine of a male is sprinkled over the urine of a female and washed off.”
For the past fourteen centuries, jurists have not paid attention to the status of women, For them, their captivity and treatment in the way we know from the history of those recent centuries was a matter of course, Until now, jurists insist on considering religion as a source of honor and respect for women, who exist in the shadow of local traditions and jurisprudence in the best condition, However, the enormous development of the status of women in recent centuries, which was many times what happened during thousands of years of human history, exposed, through comparison between our situation and their situation, that is, the situation of the rest of the world, considering women in this environment in the best condition is a great falsification, She is in the worst condition, Here, it can be said that the bad condition is due first to the Bedouin invasion and to the change of religion in the methods of dealing with women within the framework of what is called Sharia, and secondly, it is due to the failure of the invasion of “modernity” in the region,Here, the peoples have confused the difference between modernity and consumer modernization, which was achieved in some regions by the hand of oil, The continuation of Sharia as a source of law in the countries of the region means that women remain in the culture of captivity, that is, in the culture of the second Jahiliyyah, where there is no difference,Basic between the first and second ignorance.
We feel that the question about the relationship between religion and women is objectively wrong, and we see that the question should be whether jurisprudence honored women, treated them fairly, or treated them as human beings, regardless of the shameful texts, The texts, whatever they may be, cannot do anything on earth without the men of jurisprudence, who are men of politics and men of religion at the same time, The texts are nothing more than ink on paper compared to the men of jurisprudence or religion, who are men of solution and binding. Their interpretations and explanations, which are contradictory and opposite to each other, were and still are representative of their whims and convictions, Their whims were what forced them to adopt those convictions, Therefore, the crime against women is their crime par excellence.
