There is no human group without history, and history is primarily a recording of development, which is considered one of the most important facts of humanity. Abolishing the present and leaping over it towards the past is the essence of Salafism. Here it seems that every religion and sect has its Salafism, and with the extremism of Salafism, it can be said that every religion and sect has its ISIS, which is not only extremism, but extremism coupled with violence and decadence. Whoever does that is positioning himself, or rather, placing himself outside of history, which represents the past in addition to the present. The Salafist present is a voluntary, optional escape and isolation from the world. The traditionalist, such as the Brotherhood and the Baathist, is Salafist by nature. He wants to live in the past, which he sees as pure white, so he wants to revive it again in the present.

This methodology was and still is one of the most important reasons for backwardness. The present of people dies when they reject it and replace it with the decaying corpse of the past. Religion, then its rules and regulations, is a past with circumstances and a context different from the context of the present. Confronting Salafism, which calls for importing the past and planting it in the present, is nothing but an attempt to save the present and the future from the past that has died and had its fill of death, a past that has lost its validity at least by the factor of time, not to mention that it was bad even in its historical context.

  Dealing with this situation requires distinguishing between a past that has passed and ended, i.e. has turned into a historical event, i.e. has died and no longer exists, such as burying girls alive in the pre-Islamic era, and a past that is still alive and active in the present. Interest in what has died is relevant to academic studies. Addressing the past that has died is nothing but nihilistic grave-digging. Addressing what is present from the past in the present, or what has been planted from the past in the present, has no connection to grave-digging. It is addressing a contemporary situation, but its origin was in the past, such as polygamy or circumcision, for example.

Salafism is nothing but living in the past, and the call to live in the past that was forcibly transferred to the present, is nothing but an indication of impotence and defeat in the face of the requirements of the present. The ancients were able to invent a method for their lives, marriage, etc., but the successors were unable to accomplish what they needed in terms of systems and management of the affairs of present life. The successors are sterile, castrated, modern, and afflicted with intellectual impotence. All of this forced them to intrude on the past, begging and surrendering, or that intrusion on the past prevented them from thinking and being modern. How can a person in the age of knowledge accept the guardianship of the age of ignorance??

The merchandise of the age of ignorance comes to us under the name of “heritage.” It is colonialism that we fear, and some fear for it. Some of us reject it because of its evil, and some of us sanctify and glorify it because of its religious nature. It is part of their sanctities, so it must be preserved as an inherited culture. It has reached us false, fabricated, and painted white, but in reality, it is black and gloomy. With its ignorance, it oppresses chests and occupies minds. It kills freedom of thought, determination, and will, and turns the present into something similar to itself… a lifeless, decaying corpse!!

There is no liberation except after liberation from the subservience addicted to slavery to heritage, or rather from the type of relationship with heritage, the heritage of the peoples of this region is not the real history, but rather a biased narrative about history, and even in this biased, booby-trapped and perfumed narrative we find nothing but rot, logic is an essential part of the truth of history, for example, there is no truth or logic in the claim that the Arabs spread civilization wherever they occupied and conquered, only a people of transmission without a mind would believe that, the Arabs knew nothing but primitiveness and backwardness, and they were not known to have written a single book in their history before the Qur’an, while others wrote thousands of books on philosophy, architecture, engineering, law… etc. thousands of years before the birth of religion, a joke…! It is said that the Bedouins of the peninsula introduced bathing and baths to Europe, but the Bedouins of the peninsula did not have baths on their island, not even one bath, because how could the baths be operated without water? The most important factor that led to their backwardness, movement and instability was the scarcity of water and the harshness of the dry desert environment.

These ridiculous claims are worthless if they are not coupled with the deadly arrogance that is manifested in the practice of pathological pride that hinders progress. We want you and for you to rise so that we may rise with you. The call to practice objectivity, honesty and not to lie is not to belittle you, but rather to urge you to see the situation as it is without falsification, embellishment or lying, so that you do not become numb and lose the will, determination and ability to rise.

Objectivity and not lying to oneself is the foundation upon which progress is built… We do not dig up graves (metaphorically) except to liberate ourselves from death in the graves and to revive and activate the minds that have been paralyzed and killed. We dig up graves to extract the dead from the forced grave, in which man dissolves into organic primitives whose essence is dust. Is rotting in the grave life? Are you alive??
