Bedouins without a desert

Bedouinism is a human condition whose most important features are stagnation and lack of development, like the desert. Human development is not always linked primarily to his will, but rather to the circumstances of his life, which are dictated mainly by the environment and nature in the peoples exposed to it. The Bedouin is present by chance and not by his choice and will in the desert. The balance of power in his interaction with the desert is logically in favor of the desert. He has no choice but to change himself, in order to adapt to environmental conditions that cannot be changed. Therefore, certain characteristics of the Bedouin, such as protecting those who seek refuge with him, and other good qualities, are combined with vices, including rudeness, savagery, and religious extremism, then reliance on invasion and plunder. The desert does not offer ways to practice agriculture, which hones the mind and muscles with the characteristics of production and living from the product. Boasting of lineage and lineage has its environmental causes, and the inferior view of women, who are unable to practice robbery and plunder of trade caravans like men, has its causes. There is revenge as an alternative. A deterrent to punishment and to the judiciary, since the establishment of a fair judiciary requires the existence of compliance with this fair judiciary, which conflicts with the existence of a tribal leader who also worked as a judge who was absolutely biased towards his tribe.

Due to the lack of a source of livelihood such as agriculture for example, robbery and plunder became a source of living, and robbery requires men who are strong in practicing wars, and war means fighting and fighting, so the Bedouin’s profession is killing and practicing wars, and when the Bedouin does not find an external enemy for him, he fights internally and fights himself. The passion for fighting was and still is one of the most prominent features of the Arab character, which was not known in Islam and before Islam more than practicing wars

Bedouinism does not require wearing a galabiya, there are many Bedouin mentalities among those who wear a formal suit. It is a matter of mentality, not of outer clothing. A suit is possible in the city, and remaining in the Bedouin mentality is possible and comfortable because it does not require effort to develop, and development is difficult without interaction and contact with others. How can verbal  culture ensure this contact? Don’t we all notice the Arab’s aversion to learning about what is new through reading, and reading, if it exists, is reading the Quran? Here it is worth noting the small number of pages that an Arab reads compared to an Israeli, then comparing the number of books published in the Arab Islamic world with the number of books published in Israel! It is also noticeable that strong influence of the sermons of sheikhs, then that passion for television and channels… All of this is evidence of the control of Bedouin verbal culture over people’s minds and awareness

Bedouin   verbal   culture has a close relationship with the mind’s exercise of its functions and tasks. The mind’s reliance on verbal culture transforms it into a mind with a great capacity to bear distortion with a distinctive and amazing surrender. The surrendered mind is unable to recognize barbarism, especially to treat it, and is unable to perceive chaos and be able to remove it, and is unable to find new horizons that transform the individuals of the city into members of a society and not into a herd of individuals. The culture of reliance on the individual is the culture of the “hero of the nation” whom we know very well through our experience of the hero and individual heroism

Concern for the individual’s interest was a major reason for encouraging the leaders of the Muhammadan armies to give, as each of them had a city that he ruled. Shurahbil  a majer war leader had his city like any other leader. Concern for the individual fighter’s interest was the main reason for encouraging the Bedouins of the peninsula to devote themselves to war, as they shared the spoils of war with the Caliphate, which received a fifth

Anyone who reads the book “The Management of Savagery” by Abu Bakr Naji will find an extensive chapter on ISIS’s understanding of the subject of fighters, their salaries, and their share of the captives and spoils. ISIS initially focused on controlling the sources of livelihood and money (oil), in order to be able to give each fighter a monthly salary said to have reached $1,000, in addition to housing for his family and women. History repeated itself and continued with ISIS for a period that was not short,

The Arab person remained an individual or individuals living alongside each other and not with each other, and this is one of the most important reasons for the Arab failure, and the failure of ISIS as well,The failure of the Arabs is generally a translation of the failure of Bedouini, We in this green country are Bedouins without a desert! And this is the deadly paradox
