The Muslim Brotherhood and the necessity of resignation

العرب مباشر | كاريكاتير | طرد الإخوان من المؤسسات الحكومية في #تونس   The Brotherhood’s failure to settle comfortably in power revealed deep contradictions in their discourse, which was based on the principle of “empowerment.” This principle, in turn, rested on the concept that “necessity justifies the forbidden.” The concept of empowerment allowed the Brotherhood to use any means necessary to reach the seat of power, such as participating in a military coup or participating in elections they had rigged beforehand, as was the case with Morsi’s election, Even his candidacy was contrary to the Egyptian constitution, which prohibits the candidacy of individuals with a religious background,They also allowed themselves to participate in the Free Officers’ coup, the group of officers around Nasser, Before that, in 1948, they assassinated Egyptian Prime Minister Fahmy al-Nuqrashi, There is not enough space to mention all their assassinations, The only constant in their discourse or political appearance was their rejection of the civil state and their promotion of a religious, pastoral style of governance, followed by the use of permissible deception and lying to consolidate power, as was applied in Morsi’s case, First, Morsi had to be elected somehow, and then, once in power, they would deal with whatever happened next!

The Brotherhood did not reject the blatant linguistic vulgarity regarding the civil state, The secularists wanted a civil state according to the European model, and the Brotherhood wanted a civil state or the city state, i.e., Yathrib, They naively exploited the similarity in name between civility and the city (Yathrib), which was not civil but theocratic, rejecting any form of democracy, as was explained in later eras. In Yathrib, there was no equality between women and men and anything similar to the conditions of democracy that we know in this era.

No sooner had Morsi sat on the chair than he dismissed all the women who held positions such as heads of departments, and gradually the dismissal included women in lower positions and then lower ones, etc. In addition to purging the middle and lower levels of women from positions and chairs, Morsi tried to abolish the phenomenon of elections that brought him to power, i.e., breaking the ladder by which he ascended to the chair. Then he practiced repression, takfir (excommunication), and the elimination of the opposition, and tried to apply what came in Sharia regarding the president being chosen by God, and thus it is not permissible to criticize or rebel against him. In other words, Morsi came to power through civil means and practiced governance through religious means and concepts, such as jihad in the cause of God and not in the cause of Egypt, They do not recognize the state of Egypt at all.

Theoretically, all religious monotheistic movements are considered capable of practicing violence, but historical reality has proven that the fragments of religious monotheism, its entanglements, and its consequences did not harm or embarrass the behavior of societies like the European societies, which brought Lutheranism more than five centuries ago, and did not act on what Martin Luther wrote: “My dear gentlemen, stab with the dagger, attack and slaughter better, and if you meet death, it is better for you, for you can never meet a happier death, because you die obeying God’s command and word.” It seems as if the Brotherhood acted on what Martin Luther advised, as happened during the dispersal of their sit-ins in Rabaa and Nahda squares in Cairo, Here, 52 churches were burned and 12 other churches were looted, according to the report of the Egyptian Fact-Finding Committee, In addition, the Brotherhood committed many hostile acts against the Copts throughout Egypt.

In general, it can be said that the Brotherhood has contributed significantly to hindering the building of a positive regional reality in this region, by promoting fundamentalist religious sentiments and reckless extremism, They have changed the shape of life in their own image, plagued by the intensification of the culture of terrorism in their conscience or intellectual being. They tried to secularize the idea of God, but it turned out that their god is very different from the gods of others, Their god is a jihadist fighter and therefore contradicts the peaceful conceptions of the gods of others,The god of others does not kill, enslave, steal, or take possession of the lands of others through conquests.

The Muslim Brotherhood has failed in regional politics by restricting it to the fixed, and fixity is not in the nature of politics, Moreover, the coercion or necessity of homogeneity is fatal to politics, which only thrives on diversity—the diversity of people and the gods of people, They were unable, as a religion, to absorb politics, nor were their policies able to absorb religion. They adopted a path of hegemony and imposition, even through violence in most cases. They refused to submit to secular civilization, thinking that stubbornness is strength and that denying scientific objectivity and self-interest is a kind of overwhelming courage and political might. Knowing that life is managed by politics and not by the unseen and subjective, their vision of the people’s interest was summarized in the phrase, “If you support God, He will support you.” We do not know why a starving person must support God, when God, the Almighty, the Compeller, is capable of all things, And when and how did the Almighty, the Compeller, support His servants? They were keen and insistent on exercising guardianship over others and did not care to review the results of this guardianship, Their guardianship was on behalf of the Creator who does not err, and he erred in determining the best destiny for mankind in heaven, without any proof or eyewitness testimony, Guardianship was exercised over politics, that is, over the destiny of man even in heaven, because life on earth is fleeting and therefore not important, The Brotherhood rejected advice and refused to train for participation, because political Islam is God’s representative on earth, who has no partner, that is, they have no partner, The Brotherhood of political Islam was very far from building positive relations with the rest of the world that represents modernity, that is, the Brotherhood was very far from building a positive relationship with modernity, which is corrupting religion according to the opinion of the sheikhs.

The Brotherhood has no choice but to participate if they want or are able to change and develop themselves towards seeking care from others, not imposing guardianship on them, They are truly a burden on society and they must acknowledge their weakness and their need to learn from civilians and be trained in the ethics of coexistence and the culture of acknowledging weakness and the inability to solve the problems of the present with their own means,There is no correspondence between the ability to gather numbers of voters through intimidation and enticement and the ability to govern the country in the sea of the world, in which the ship of secularism sails, which does not sink!

Understanding is the foundation of successful international relations, which are crucial for every country, How will the Brotherhood understand a world they neither understand nor are understood by? Therefore, a phased approach, something akin to Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter, namely, placing them under guardianship and guiding the country to safety and progress under the umbrella of equality and civil democracy, is necessary. There is no shame in admitting inability, nor in learning and training,The shame lies in failure and the country’s backwardness, There is no progress, freedom, or social justice with them in their current form, They must acknowledge their inability to build healthy relationships with global modernity, and that no people in this era can escape the cycle of world history, This does not theoretically negate the Creator’s ability to send a new master of prophets, At that point, we will acknowledge our unsuitability for the new era of prophecy, the era of the Companions and the Caliphate, and thus return willingly to the embrace of the Brotherhood.
