Cleanliness is next to godliness

Since faith is considered unquestioning submission and acceptance, it is both a disaster and a farce, A prophetic saying about the relationship between cleanliness and faith caught our attention, It is said in a hadith that “cleanliness is part of faith.” Cleanliness is indeed a virtuous thing, For the sake of cleanliness, the Babylonians and Romans invented soap many centuries before Christ, In addition to soap, the Babylonians and Romans possessed water, Both water and soap were essential elements for bathing, A Spanish queen refrained from bathing until the Bedouin were expelled from Spain,  The queen’s refusal to bathe was symbolic, signifying that the expulsion of the invaders from Spain was like cleansing or purifying Spain of Bedouin influence, On the other hand, some regions of Europe in the Middle Ages experienced what was called “water phobia” or “aquaphobia,” a partially understood superstition that was said to express a fear of disease, Instead of bathing, the custom of changing underwear spread in Northern Europe as a form of hygiene practice,In cold regions, the water becomes cold, and bathing in water… Cold water causes some diseases, and heating cold water requires energy that was not available.

Recent statistics have revealed radical developments, showing that 95% of Italians bathe daily, With this percentage, Italy leads other northern European countries such as England and Germany, where bathing was somewhat less common, This is attributed to the climate, specifically the colder temperatures in northern Europe, However, it was in northern Europe, specifically England, that the first mechanical shower was invented in 1767, Public baths, particularly around hot springs, were widespread in Britain 2,000 years ago, and these baths are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, In comparison, the Arabian Peninsula saw the construction of its first bath in Ibrahim Pasha’s palace in Al-Ahsa in 1555, Even in Algeria, Roman baths were built 2,000 years ago, such as the Hammam Essalihine in Khenchela, which is still in operation today, Algeria is considered the second largest repository of Roman heritage after Italy, and the aforementioned bath was not the only one in Algeria, In Syria, hundreds of Roman baths were built in the 2nd and 3rd centuries AD in various Syrian regions, such as Hama and As-Suwayda, among others, In Iraq, Roman baths are widespread in the west of the country, that is, in the areas that were under Roman control, In Tunisia, the Romans built the largest baths, such as the Bath of Antoninus in Carthage, In Egypt, Roman baths were built, especially in Alexandria, one hundred years before Christ, In this regard, Lebanon was no different from Syria, as a giant Roman bath was discovered built in the first century AD in the centere of Beirut, There is no need to expand further on the enumeration of baths built by the Romans in the world.

The Spaniards and the rest of the Europeans used to bathe and clean their bodies, as cleanliness is not only a matter of faith but also a health necessity, With the availability of water and soap, bathing becomes possible, but when water and soap are not available, bathing becomes difficult, as it was and still is in the deserts of the Arabian Peninsula, Even the Pharaohs used to bathe and clean their bodies in effective ways, and according to a study by Mrs. Amal Muhammad, they were the first to invent soap.

History has never known a people who were instinctively addicted to filth, and the situation of the Bedouin of the Arabian Peninsula was no different from a human perspective, However, the matter of bathing was difficult for the Arabs of the Peninsula, as there was no water in the Empty Quarter desert in quantities that allowed for bathing or even allowed for providing drinking water or the water necessary for agriculture,That is, they were forced to live with physical filth, and to this day, whoever gets close to a Bedouin these days is sickened by the unpleasant smells that come from him.

We don’t know the objective reason for the Bedouin descendants’ insistence on falsely promoting the virtues of the conquests, whether in the Levant or elsewhere, such as in Spain, India, and other regions, Instead of apologizing to the peoples they inflicted the greatest human and civilizational damage upon, they resorted to promoting fabricated tales of heroism, even regarding hygiene, Then there’s the issue of Arab civilization in Spain, claiming that the Bedouin taught the Spanish about hygiene and other aspects of spreading science and knowledge, despite the Bedouin being completely illiterate, Because water was scarce in the Arabian Peninsula and sciences like chemistry, necessary for soap making, were absent, hygiene in the Arabian Peninsula deteriorated, History reminds us of the extremely poor hygiene practices of the man who said, “Cleanliness is next to godliness.” History records the very small amount of water Aisha and Ibn Abdullah used for ritual washing after intercourse, It also recounts many stories about him having intercourse with his wives while they were menstruating, how lice fell from his head, how he prayed without performing ritual washing or washing his clothes of semen, and how he urinated,And how he slept with urine under his bed, and how he did not wash after defecating, and then ate after defecating without washing his hands, and how he performed ablution from a well whose water was dirty with filth, There are many truly shameful stories and narrations, and then they claim that he was one of the cleanest of God’s creation, and that his followers taught the Spanish cleanliness!!!!!

Cleanliness is indeed a good thing, but faith is a bad thing, and the good cannot be part of the bad, Therefore, cleanliness cannot be part of faith, nor can honesty be part of faith, nor can good morals be part of faith, nor can virtue be part of faith, and conscious patriotism is not part of faith, If cleanliness were part of faith, there would not be those piles of garbage and filth covering the land on which believers live,Look at their streets and alleys and the garbage bags that fall on the heads of passersby, Are these the descendants of those who taught the European Spaniards cleanliness?!

Was Spain invaded and colonized for 700 years to teach the Spanish about hygiene? Europe is full of water and soap, How could Bedouin invaders teach the Spanish about hygiene when Bedouin women didn’t even practice it in their own homes, and couldn’t, at least due to water scarcity? The conquest of Spain, like others, was a   colonial plundering of the conquered land and its people, The goal was to abduct virgins, who were shipped to the Caliph in Damascus in numbers exceeding tens of thousands, The aim wasn’t to spread civilization because the Bedouin of the Arabian Peninsula possessed no civilization, They didn’t invent writing or science; they couldn’t even read or write. Here, we  are   astonished by the fabricated saying, “Read in the name of your Lord, etc.” How could an illiterate person read? What could they read if there were no books? The one to whom this advice was revealed was illiterate, unable to read or write, and remained illiterate for 23 years after the call to Islam began, The claim that he asked for paper and pen to write his will before his death is pure fantasy, He was born illiterate and died illiterate.
