Syria does not need this army

Traditionally, and out of necessity, the state builds institutions whose function is to serve the citizen, protect him, and ensure his stability and security, Among these institutions is the army,The Syrian army is supposed to carry out the tasks that are carried out by the armies of legitimate democratic states,Has the Syrian army done that?
It is impossible to answer this question with the word “yes.” The army has not performed its legal, legitimate, and necessary duties since its inception, and therefore it has become a burden on the state, In its previous and current form, no state can accommodate it, Thus, in Syria, it has become the state, We want to address some points that make coexistence between this army and the Syrian people difficult, We have repeatedly called for the dissolution of this army before the collapse of the Assad regime, It seems that the current authority is proceeding with the establishment of a new catastrophe that can be called the catastrophe of the sectarian army, in addition to the catastrophe of the mercenaries, How does this army view the mercenaries in Syria?
1- Externally, and against an external enemy, this mercenary army has not yet achieved any real victory, and in the future, it will achieve nothing but linguistic triumphs that verbally transform disasters into their opposites. Every disaster that Syria has endured was bloody, yet linguistically altered, The Arabic language has placed a mask before the face of the horrific event, and how easy this is for a flabby language like Arabic, This language readily accepts, for example, transforming a coup into a revolution, the religious into the secular, a catastrophe after a horrific defeat into a setback, the will of the dictator into the will of the people, and mercenaries into mujahideen, Let us not forget Bashar al-Assad’s nonsense and his use of language to disguise the catastrophic nature of the Syrian situation, He said, “From the womb of pain, hope must be born.” How so? What is the relationship between hope and pain, aside from the musicality of the phrase? Civil war is the labor pains of the birth of light! How is that? Language has become a vehicle and a field for refining collective falsehoods, In short, the army’s failure against Israel, and the failure of yesterday or the past, is not the last failure, Therefore, the issue of the army and mercenaries must be decided again, especially because of their crimes, their material cost, their obstruction of any development towards democracy, and because they are the source of corruption and tyranny!
2- Internally, the army transformed first into the Ba’athist ideological army, then into Assad’s brigades, and now, along with mercenaries, into a faithful, al julani-based mujahid, Placing the army at the service of one side in the Syrian conflict led to its fragmentation into several factions, The faction that fought internally during Assad’s era was primarily composed of Alawites, This must be stated clearly, despite its bitterness, It was difficult to involve the Sunni element of the army in the internal fighting; this element would likely have defected or been hanged, The army is divided despite the homogeneity of the leadership in terms of material interests, Logically, this army was not created to fight for Assad, because Assad is not the nation, nor was it created to fight for al-Julani, because al-Julani is not the nation, There is no entity in the Syrian Republic that is equivalent to the nation, even if it is from the lineage whose secret God has sanctified, like al-Shar’a or Assad, If an army is necessary, its missions should be limited to foreign operations, not to firing on demonstrators and committing massacres in the coast and the south at the hands of mercenaries called The army’s mission is not to wage war for anyone, but only to defend the country against external aggression.
3- The army, in its mercenary structure, has become the greatest den of corruption, The soldier who does not want to continue his shift goes home and transfers his salary to his teacher, Army officers have become contractors, merchants, and owners of companies and factories, In addition, the army has employed itself in the service of “breaking the law” by practicing mediation, bribery, nepotism, and other practices that are incompatible with the soldier’s mission. The army has not protected the law.
4- The army consumes about 80% of the general budget, why? And why are there hundreds of thousands in the army? If the answer is for the liberation of Palestine, then this is a bad joke, and these sayings have been consumed by the public as the saying of resistance and defiance and so on, and repeating these phrases is a reason for ridicule only, so before liberating Palestine, Syria must be liberated from its internal imperialism and from the military colonization of it, Syria’s misfortunes are many, the first and greatest of which is the quality of the authority and the quality of the army.
5- As for corruption in the military establishment, there’s no end to it. Before discussing it, we must look at the mountains and the palaces built upon them, We must ask about the cost of these palaces, who owns them, and where they got the money, The cost is in the billions, and their owners are army officers, each according to their military rank: a colonel is not the same as a brigadier general, and according to their tribal status: a Khayyati is not the same as a Haddadi, and according to their family: Assad is not the same as Makhlouf, and Makhlouf is unknown, and the Julani family is not the same as the Hasbani family, and according to their religious affiliation, During Assad’s era, 83 of the top 90 army officers were Alawites, half of them from the Assad family or first-degree relatives of Assad, The situation during Julani’s era was reversed, but it remained, in principle, the same as Assad’s. Instead of Alawites, there are now Sunnis; instead of Alawite criminals, there are now Sunni criminals; instead of Alawite thieves, there are now Sunni thieves, The same applies to those who call themselves presidents, Where did Marshal Bashar al-Assad get 70 billion dollars from?! That is, about five times the Syrian budget at that time, And where did Maher and Hazem get those billions deposited in the banks of the part of Cyprus controlled by Turkey? And could the theft be more obvious?
There are many reasons that confirm that Syria does not need an army, firstly, and secondly, it does not need an army that is morally and ethically bankrupt, and in which corruption is rampant to an unimaginable degree, There will be no recovery in Syria until this army, which was formed from Syrian mercenaries and now includes mercenaries from abroad—Chechen, Uyghur, or others—is eliminated, The criminal al-Julani must leave, just as the criminal Assad left, and let them take their palaces, their stolen wealth, their corruption, and their brutality with them. Congratulations to them on all of that! The important thing is that they leave!
