Observations on the developments of religious fundamentalism

The power of the Awakening, i.e. the Salafist movement, reached its peak around 2011 with the support of oil money, The Salafists thought that they could have eternal control over countries whose populations mostly belonged to the Muhammadan faith, especially after the election of Morsi in Egypt,There was also relative success in Tunisia after Ghannouchi’s party obtained 40% of the votes, In addition, al-Bashir was the ruler in Sudan, and in Sudan al-Bashir implemented Sharia, albeit partially.

Salafism was aided by the Iranian Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist, which managed to control four Arab capitals and impose a religious lifestyle on the Iranians, Support also came from Erdogan of Turkey, from Saudi Arabia, then from Qatar and other countries, But the decline and fall soon began, for example in Egypt after almost a year of Morsi’s presidency, and Ghannouchi’s party quickly lost more than 20 parliamentary seats in the following elections. In Sudan, al-Bashir was overthrown in 2018.

In Syria and Iraq, movements like ISIS and Al-Nusra emerged, and ISIS managed to temporarily control more than half of the combined territory of Syria and Iraq, Here, the displays of beheadings, amputations, burning people alive, stoning women, and everything that the caliphs did nearly 1400 years ago were repeated, Dozens of terrorist acts were also carried out all over the world, All of this confirmed the concept of Dar al-Harb (the abode of war) and Dar al-Islam (the abode of Islam), and then the concept of takfir (excommunication) and the elimination of the other. All of this was accompanied by attempts by some religious authorities to disassociate themselves from these terrorist organizations, even attempting to absolve the religion from the actions of these groups, None of these attempts were successful, as they turned into farces, These practices provided a living example of the literal application of Sharia and the imitation of the ancients from the days of Ibn Abdullah until today, In the books of heritage, practices were mentioned that ISIS practices were an exact copy of, meaning that these practices were a literal application of what came in Sharia.

In Iran, economic, political, military, and material problems such as bankruptcy and inflation have accumulated, The percentage of those living below the poverty line in wealthy Iran has risen to more than 50% of Iranians, Waves of protests have followed one another, the latest of which was in recent days, As a result of Hezbollah’s control, the percentage of those living below the poverty line in Lebanon has reached more than 70%,In Syria, poverty has developed to the point where more than 95% of Syrians live below it, In Iran, Lebanon, and Islamized Syria, violence and killing have prevailed, and consequently, fear has spread. Then there are the executions of people in Syria and Iran, with the number in Iran reaching around 300 executions every month, The survival of the rule of the Supreme Leader in Iran has become questionable, and it is most likely that it will fall.

In Syria, there are daily assassinations and kidnappings, prisons like those of Assad, and massacres in the west and south, Had it not been for the SDF’s military strength, there would have been massacres in the east and north. In addition, there are executions of another kind, After ISIS destroyed large parts of Palmyra years ago, sold the antiquities they stole for more than a billion dollars, and beheaded the octogenarian head of the Palmyra Museum with a knife, al-Julani’s followers—or rather, the Minister of Culture in al-Julani’s government—executed dozens of statues in the National Museum, The bizarre method of execution was to behead the statues with a saw, Most of the statues dated back to the Roman, Byzantine, Assyrian, and other eras, meaning they were thousands of years old, Human history has never witnessed such moral depravity and vileness, except perhaps in Tora Bora, Afghanistan. The direct motive for this horrific act was religion, since religion rejects idol worship, as if the presence of the statues in the museum meant worshipping them! Religion also drove al-Qaeda in Afghanistan to destroy Buddhist artifacts in Tora Bora. Afghan.

Erdogan’s Brotherhood-like ambitions have been thwarted after his star rose between 2000 and 2010 as a result of the successful economic policies implemented by his predecessor, Ozal, Those successes evaporated, and the price of the dollar rose to about 50 lira, after it was about 2.5 lira in Erdogan’s early years, It is certain that Erdogan will not succeed in the upcoming elections despite his childish populist actions such as occupying and stealing the Hagia Sophia Church. He occupies the Byzantine Hagia Sophia Church and wants to reclaim the Al-Aqsa Mosque!!!!

Socially, the influence of religion has decreased in many regions such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf, This was observed in Egypt after the emergence of Kemet, i.e., the Pharaonic trend, and after the abolition of the obligation to wear the hijab, then the abolition of the groups of enjoining good and forbidding evil in Saudi Arabia, and the abolition of the moral police in Iran. On the contrary, the influence of religion rose vertically in Syria after the Golan Liberation Front gained political and military dominance over the Syrians, which led to the consolidation of social fragmentation and the geographical division of the country.

The attempt to Islamize Syria will lead to a backlash in the near future, The joy of Syrian women and men at the fall of Assadism does not mean that they are ready to accept the Islamization of laws and placing ministries and state institutions under the supervision of sheikhs, Depriving women of their rights in Syria will not be a final matter. A coup against the Golan is inevitable, perhaps primarily at the hands of foreign powers.
