Suicide of honor, conscience and morals

     For decades, Syrian society has not stoppe   one surprise after another, and each surprise was worse than the one before it. The unbridled barbarism in terms of killing, destruction, dragging, crucifixion, kidnapping and looting was a big surprise that nullified much of what was promoted about the rationality of Syrian society. The return of the concepts of “traveling” without any shame and hunting down young people to throw them into the fire of death and war in the past years was a shock of the shameful and disgusting kind. Practicing the concepts of “traveling” is an indirect admission that what they call a homeland is not worth sacrificing for. If this so-called “homeland” was really a homeland, it would not have been necessary to send people to war by force and coercion. We do not know of any civilized manifestation of this people in the last decades  

A people who had a surplus of reasons to revolt…revolts…then allows the criminality of the armed factions to crush their revolution…a people who are schizophrenic and weaned on deceit. We are no longer surprised by any decadent demonstration by this herd! Most of what happens in this country is characterized by “violence”, whether it is the barbarism of warfare or forcibly driving young people to war during the Ottoman era, even in past years, or the escape of young people to neighboring countries to avoid compulsory conscription. Even corruption was violence, Article 8 is violence, and punishing a cigarette smoker in Ramadan is violence…selling women and polygamy is indescribable violence…then the violence of practicing honor crimes. Isn’t it a surprise when it is said that Syria leads all countries in the world in committing honor crimes, which is almost permissible violence

Is there a human being who can consider the killing of a woman in defense of honor as a moral matter, and is there a human being who can consider a law that does not punish the perpetrator of a crime as a criminal? Yes… All of that is Syrian, and the practice that Syria leads the world with is a Syrian practice, and the law that indirectly encourages this practice is a Syrian law. Therefore, it can be said that Syrian society is a society of bitter “surprise”, a society of camouflage and forgery… a society where the mold contradicts the heart… a society of the formal suit over the galabiya… a society of deception and pretense!! And recently, a society of massacres

The practice of honor crimes results from a complete lack of “honor” on the part of the perpetrator, a violence encouraged by a major imbalance in the mental and social balance, encouraged by a culture of discrimination between people and placing women in a position lower than men by degrees, encouraged by a culture of superstition, traditions and blind customs, encouraged by the baseness of masculinity that failed outside the home system to transform into manhood. Therefore, manhood must transform in the home into an animalistic masculinity that wants revenge on women because they have learned something, risen up something, become somewhat liberated and want some independence. They want to prove that they are not “things” that can be bought, sold and forcibly married off

Women and every human being do not willingly accept being “objectified” and treated as a commodity. The male beast sees women’s progress as a sign of his own backwardness and a diminishing of his privileges in terms of owning and guardianship of women. Her attempt to rebel against life in a cage is tantamount to a death sentence that the male animal practices in many cases “spectacularly” and with pride and dignity. The most common background in honor crimes is a woman’s marriage to a man the patriarchal family system does not want, or her establishing a relationship with a man outside of official marriage. Honor killing is usually carried out by the victim’s relatives. The brother usually tops the list of defenders of damaged honor. Imagine that equation! A brother slaughters his sister from the vein to the vein because she married someone the family does not want. The fact that she personally desires him is worthless because she is not a “person” but only a thing

 The catastrophe is not limited to the physical killing by slaughter. There are other forms of killing women who object to being placed in a lower rank than men. There is social assassination, moral killing, and a long list of punishments that must be applied to the objecting and rebellious woman. What concerns women in exposing them to the violence of assassination and liquidation is a branch of the phenomenon of violence that besieges the Syrian person from at least six sides! Moral killing is like a slow death of women, whom the ignorant society considers “defective.” It besieges them, humiliates them, and degrades their dignity, and ultimately pushes them to put an end to their lives. It is suicide. It is as if we are in Kandahar
